NARS POP!

NARS has honored pop artist Andy Warhol with their new collection and I was there to try it. Check out their palettes, to-die-for nail polish colors and gift sets at SEPHORA
These palettes are ALL eye shadow and they are a work of art in itself!
Thanks to Crystal Mateos from SEPHORA Meyerland for doing an awesome make-up job and making me look as cool as Debbie Harry aka Blondie.
Crystal made a face map for my look indicating each product she used and how she used it. Super useful for when I go buy the products!
My favorite thing about this look (apart from my stunning purple-turquoise eye look) is discovering their ORGASM lip gloss (their ORGASM blush is their best-seller)which is a perfect nude gloss for every day.

Twistbands!

Number one reason I hate ponytails? They tear my hair out, they're never perfectly snug or they're on too tight. Not anymore. Twistbands in the house making sure your hair is perfectly in place . Not only that, when you do wear it on your wrist it's a cute bracelet(unlike regular, old boring photo-ruining ponytails). Goody brand makes some great twistbands, I found mine at Target. Oh, and I found my cute go-anywhere small Conair brush there too. They also have some larger ones to use as headbands or as larger ponytails for a bigger head of hair.

Be Gentle

Breakouts in the summer or an occasional blemish might push you to buy grainy exfoliators, chemical at home peels and harsh cleansers to fix the problem fast. The answer to clearing your skin? Go gentle with alcohol free products that balance your skin's PH and don't tug and wear out your pretty face. Look at the best ones I found!
1) Benefit Moisturizing Prep A toner that cleans and balances the PH levels of your skin and prepares your face so that your moisturizer works better.
2)Fresh and Flawless Pomegranate and Citrus Face Mask Put this on, lay back and relax. This delicious mask gently clarifies and moisturizes your skin.
3)Toning Lotion by Dior Created for sensitive skin, this toner is alcohol free and has velvet peony extract. Skin feels SO good after this.
4)Boo Boo Zap by Benefit I love that the name of this product does not have the word pimple in it. Savvy. This serum works hard to get rid of pimples without drying your skin.Wear it over or under make-up flawlessly. Genius!
TIP: If you are experiencing breakouts don't think that skipping moisturizer will make it better, on the contrary, moisturized skin makes blemishes heal faster.

Coral Glow!

For this beautiful coral glow I followed a few easy steps:
1) I used a highlight stick on all my face before putting on my foundation.
2) I applied a medium coverage foundation with a brush.
3) A little bit of bronzer to contour under my cheekbones, nose of my bride and hairline.
4) A bit of coral colored blush on the apple of my cheeks.
5) Lash curler and black mascara. No eyeliner though.
6) I filled in my eyebrows with some powder and set it with brow wax (a brow gel will also do!).
6) Last but not least, a sparkly coral lipstick.
Ta da! Don't you look cute and sparkly now.

Gold Medal Make-Up

How do all those gymnasts, swimmers and mostly, synchronized swimmers look stunning and flawless while enduring the pressure of winning an Olympic gold? They have some nontraditional tricks to keep all the make-up on but most of all I commend them for wanting to look their best while competing in the London Olympics 2012. Here are some beauty medals that take the gold (because of their ingenuity and uniqueness!):
1) Synchronized swimmers use an unflavored gelatin to set their hair perfectly amidst leg lifts and underwater dancing! They actually have to heat up the gelatin, paint it on and let it dry.
2) Even though the swimmers claim to not use any certain brand of foundation they do wear Chapstick as a primer. They claim it works better than a regular primer as they apply it on brows, eyelids and face before applying their full face of make-up.
3) Aliya Mustafina is the vivacious but always serious Russian gymnast who won against American Gaby Douglas on the uneven bars and, who won me over with her glittery hairdo. Her ponytail is always tightly held, clean and sparkly. My pick if you want this look for yourself is the Victoria's Secret scented hair and body glitter spray. My scent choice is their bestseller, The Noir Tease for it's sweet and sexy notes.
4) Another look pulled off by Mustafina is her eye make-up. Trust me, I really wanted to dislike this girl for smirking when her opponents made a mistake (like when she saw Gaby missing a move, I'm still aching over this one, I know) but I forgive her for her classy pearly and shiny maroon eye make up.
5)A more daring gymnast was Brazilian Daniele Hypolito who colored her lids with the colors of her country and made them look radiant like a tropical bird.
6) Powerhouse Make-Up Forever (Available at Sephora) brand sponsors the French synchronized swimmers and I couldn't be more jealous! Their cosmetics are HD (High Definition) and their range of hues is never ending and their waterproof products are top notch. I'll have to pay more attention to the French team next time!
Do you have any gold medal beauty tricks to share!? Let me know!

Wedding Day Magic

My wedding day was barely a week ago and my photographs show how the past months products have had a wonderful effect on my skin (some that I still have not shared with you guys but I will!). I did not have to worry or waste any precious time retouching my make-up at my wedding! I enjoyed every minute and smiled at every camera that flashed my way.
The one product that truly shone through all this process amidst humidity, sun, beach breeze, anxiety, nerves and sweating is MICHAEL MARCUS Prime II. This magical product is made by a Dallas, Texas native who obviously understands the negative effects of heat and humidity on make-up. It's packed with aloe to create a moisture barrier and smooth out fine lines, soothing chamomile to fade redness and irritation, hemp oil which fades the appearance of fine lines and a tint that makes this primer wonderful even if worn alone ( I swear your skin will look like a million bucks!) To wear this product I usually wash my face, tone, moisturize and then I brush on some of this primer and ta da! Magically smooth and even toned skin.
Unfortunately this primer has no sunscreen, so remember to wear some before applying it (sunscreen first and then primer if you're wearing it alone with no make-up) and I've also noticed that it goes on best if you use a foundation brush (I use a Sonia Kashuk flat top brush available at Target) than if you use your fingers. Also, while it is a little pricy it is definitely an investment you'll want to make to look your best all the time.
