#Gaga4Gaga

My younger brother and his bestie,Caroline, are seeing Lady Gaga tonight in concert and they are utterly psyched! She has to be their ultimate idol because last night they withstood 39 degree weather with their Snuggies and uncomfy folded chairs so they could score some special "Monster Pit" bracelets (aka Lady Gaga-esque mosh pit). This will grant them a front row view of all the action! So exciting! By the way, considering we are in Houston I hope Beyonce makes an appearance to sing with Queen Gaga herself. Almost makes me remember my concert hopping ways back in Honduras when I was a teen...
I got to have a little fun and do some make-up on Caroline inspired by Lady Gaga for the concert tonight.Doesn't she look amazing?
I used my favorite L'Oreal liquid liner pen for the eye art and a limited edition Victoria's Secret palette and mixed two colors for her lips.

New Nail Buzz!

The nail trends cease to end. Yay! The new nail buzz is Essie's snake skin magnetic polish! Magnetic polish consists of painting your nails and then using the magnetic cap of the polish and pressing it while your nail is still wet and ta da! Awesome snakeskin pattern on your nail. Easy but takes a bit to dry this is a nail trend taking over Instagram feeds and TV beauty segments like on the Today show.

So fresh and so clean clean!

A few posts ago I gave you a quick tip on how to wash your make-up brushes and the best way to dry them. Well,I just bumped into this amazing stand to dry your brushes in and keep them in tip-top shape. Clever huh? Why didn't I think of this? This will definitely help extend the life of your brushes and let you keep them out of the way once you have sanitized them. If you have as many brushes as I do, this is a must!

Just like Leah Michelle

I'm a sucker for celebrity endorsements. Even though I do not keep up with GLEE as much as I'd like I've always loved Leah Michelle's style on the red carpet. Her hair, make-up and outfits are always so sexy and chic! When I saw her on their new hair campaign on TV as the brand ambassador for L'Oreal I was so happy. In my mind Leah and I have the same type of fine, limp , hair that needs the help of an awesome L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner.
Isn't she flawless? I wonder if she's wearing hair extensions to make that hair look as bouncy and full as ever. Either way, I want my hair to look that way. I might even consider going back to my natural brunette color because of Leah's shiny locks. I told you I was a sucker for celebrity endorsements.

Nail Lingerie

I know you've all clearly noticed my weakness for nail adhesives, from caviar details to any nail art that includes glitter. Yesterday I came across L'Oreal's new nail lingerie; delicate adhesives you place over your polished or unpolished nails for a fancy manicure or a nail accent(like shown below). I absolutely love how easy these are to put on, plus there's no dry time and they promise to last for 10 days!
I'm wearing the Sensationail Gel Color in Espresso Bean and the L'Oreal Nail Lingerie. Cute right?

Peel It Off!

Sorry for my week's absence! I've missed my weekly beauty chat with all of you! Between a nasty cold due to Houston's yucky weather changes and a new schedule, I finally feel brand new and ready to go again! This past week I started college (second to last semester of my Digital Photography Specialization, yay!) and my very-awaited internship (so exciting!).
I've been researching all the new facial masks and peels at Sephora and have had too much fun smelling and experimenting with different textures and promises and unwanted discoveries (like, don't test two facial masks 2 days in a row!)
Glam Glow Mud Mask
Two versions: an exfoliating and an acne-prone mask. I tried the acne-prone because I was breaking out that particular week. But their exfoliating mask is the one with the most popular reputation. Peppermint smell, starts out as dark green and dries to a light mint color, dried out my blemishes, and made it feel tight but I did keep it on for 20 minutes and the mask gives you an option to apply it for less time. I immediately applied a night serum and moisturizer after removing it. Claimed to be used by celebrities and at around $70 for a relativel small pot of product, I better look like Natalie Portman when I'm done with it! LOL
Ole Henriksen Lemon Strip Flash Peel
Transparent in color and very citrusy in smell, this gel-like peel is applied with a brush that comes with the pot and made my skin feel super duper soft after washing it off after 3 minutes. My skin was slightly red after I dried it.
Microdelivery Peel Pads/Philosophy
I really liked this pads that were soaked in a triple brightening acid peel. Since your skin turns sensitive to the sun after applying this over your face use these pads before bed and it is encouraged you also apply it on your neck and the back of your hands, all places that might show signs of aging. My skin felt great after these pads and looked a lot brighter the morning after. I had tried their Oxygen Peel as well and its very gentle but it brightens gradually after 3 or 4 uses. I do prefer the pad though because you can actually rub it on your face and feel that it's working.

All these peels and masks work towards gradually diminishing the appearance of age, acne and sun spots. They brighten your skin tone and even out your complexion with 2-3 uses a week.

Starting 2013 with a Bang!

I've had bangs in the past but since my internship at an awesome magazine in Houston is coming up I decided to renew my relationship with my bangs!

Wispy and easy to style, these bangs slim a round face like mine.

New Year's Beauty Resolutions

Here are some beauty resolutions that will make you feel and look great!
1) Buy beauty products that you LOVE! This is why I always say: ask for a sample!
2) Give your hair a heat break and don't flat iron and blow dry every day. Use a hair mask at least once a week!
3) Wear lipstick. You're a woman! Have fun! And it's only lipstick and trust me, I wasn't a lipstick wearer myself but it lights up your face, specially in photos!
4) Don't wear make-up to exercise or the gym. It clogs pores with yucky sweat! Opt for waterproof mascara and a hydrator with color and primer like the Miracle Skin Transformer.
5) Take care of your hands. They say so much about who you are. If you don't have time for a salon manicure, sugar and honey works as a wonderful hand scrub. File nails, apply a cuticle oil (like this easy cuticle oil pen!) and clear polish for a simple yet refined look.
6) Drink lots of water, eat your fruits and veggies and stay active for glowing skin and less breakouts.
The most important thing to know is beauty isn't only about the beauty products you use but also what you put inside your body that'll make you look fabulous inside and out! Oh, and stay nice and humble, that makes you look pretty good too!

#ProductFail

Happy New Year my beautiful friends!I'm so excited for my first 2013 post about a very wonderful hair product!
I rarely post about products that I don't like but I have to let you all know about my recent letdown. I got a Carol's Daughter Vanilla Detangling spray and was drawn to it for its delicious, warm sugar cookie smell.Since my hair is fine and doesn't need much I expected the best but it was just a good smelling spray, it didn't detangle or condition. On the contrary,my hair was crunchy when it air-dried....yuck.
After returning it I scoured for a detangling spray and found one at my local beauty salon and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised with this aerosol spray: Shuga Leave-In-Conditioner.
This leave in has all these amazing attributes:
1) Delicious smell
2) Yogurt protein
3) Color and heat protection
4) Hair is super smooth and shiny after applying product and air dries
5) Antioxidants and Vitamins A,C and E
6) Great for blonde hair which can look very damaged, it brings hair back to life.
7) Milk and plant sugars
8)Great for every day use and non-oily, this spray is any girls dream for luscious, healthy hair.
I keep a trial size in my purse for frizz, flyaways and to freshen my locks throughout the day.
Stay beautiful!
